Paladin Opener and Rotation

Important Notes

Fight or Flight

Should ideally be weaved at least halfway through the GCD cycle to ensure 11 physical GCDs fit into the buff window. Both charges of Intervene should be pooled for this window in full uptime. Other physical oGCDs may be used off cooldown and will still line up with Fight or Flight in most situations.

+25% physical damage dealt for 25 seconds (11 GCDs)
grade 3 tincture of strength
Tincture of Strength

Should always be single-weaved halfway through the GCD cycle to ensure 13 GCDs fit into the buff window, especially if it must include five spells. Tinctures have much longer animation lock than most actions (>1.1s), so tincture timing should be adjusted if latency or skill speed prevent fitting 13 GCDs into the window with shown timings.

+~8% all damage dealt for 30 seconds (13 GCDs)

Requiescat

Prioritize maximizing Requiescat usages, particularly in phases with predictable durations, even if it requires a different opener and/or Requiescat does not line up with a melee disengagement as a result. Optimal Requiescat window durations are dependent on precise encounter timings because Holy Spirit is individually weaker than Atonement, but collectively stronger than any other unbuffed combo.

+50% magical damage dealt for 12 seconds (5 GCDs)

Openers

• Step 1

Standard Opener

Recommended for most encounters.

This opener leads into either a standard loop or a 4-Atonement loop.

High latency: All oGCDs should be single-weaved and tincture should be used before the first Goring Blade with high latency (if 13 GCDs cannot be fit into the shown tincture window consistently).

3 Second Pre-Pull Opener

Recommended for specific encounters in which a standard opener would lose a Requiescat usage or slightly earlier buff window usage is otherwise suggested (situationally stronger than a standard opener).

This opener leads into either a standard loop or a 4-Atonement loop.

High latency: All oGCDs should be single-weaved and tincture should be swapped with first Circle of Scorn with high latency (if 13 GCDs cannot be fit into the shown tincture window consistently).

16 Second Pre-Pull Opener

Recommended only for specific encounters in which a later opener would lose a Requiescat usage due to downtime.

This opener leads into either a standard loop or a 4-Atonement loop.

High latency: High latency: No significant adjustments can be made to accommodate high latency with this opener, due to the strict initial Fight or Flight window.

Requiescat Opener (Deprecated)

Recommended only for specific encounters in which an early Requiescat window is required due to a melee disengagement or multi-target opportunity and delaying Fight or Flight will not cost a usage, or to gain a Requiescat usage due to encounter timings when a pre-pull FoF opener is impossible (Perfect Alexander).

This opener leads into a Requiescat-first loop.

High latency: Tincture should be used before Confiteor with high latency (if 13 GCDs cannot be fit into the shown tincture window consistently).

Rotational Loops

• Step 2

Standard Loop

A basic rotation that follows either a standard opener or a 3-Second or 16-Second pre-pull opener in full uptime. Pool both charges of Intervene for Fight or Flight, but use Circle of Scorn and Spirits Within off cooldown. One Holy Spirit may be dropped to shorten the loop from ~63 seconds to ~60 seconds. This can be a net potency gain in specific situations, depending on how the encounter lines up.

4-Atonement Loop

Recommended for experienced players. This loop is a minor (and somewhat random) potency gain over the standard loop with proper execution.

A modified rotation that follows either a standard opener or a 3-Second or 16-Second pre-pull opener in full uptime, with 4 Atonements in each Fight or Flight window. Note that Riot Blade is used before Fight or Flight, but buff timings do not change. Goring Blades should still be spaced eight or nine GCDs apart in full uptime to avoid a guaranteed DoT tick loss.

Requiescat-First Loop

A rigid rotation that follows a Requiescat opener in full uptime.
